So what is a voucher scheme and how does it help people with childcare?

Parents in the UK can receive payments for childcare from their employer which are exempt from tax and national insurance. The way these payments are made are through Childcare Vouchers. Parents can either receive Childcare Vouchers:

  1. ...instead of part of your salary, known as a 'salary sacrafice', or;

  2. ...as an additional payment on top of your wages.

What does Family Vouchers do?

Family Vouchers provide a simple online voucher service which allows employers to buy vouchers and give them to parents who work for them. Parents can then use the same service to pay for childcare with their chosen nursery, childminder or other childcare service provider, including registered and approved out of school clubs and holiday schemes.

Family Vouchers charges a small commission to the employer in return for providing an easy-to-use service which helps them to save tax and national insurance, whilst helping out parents who work for them.
